March 2025 Newsletter

Mar 01, 2025 • By Sandy Shoshani

“Do not be afraid; God has heard the cry of the child as he lies there.

Lift up the child and take him by the hand.” (Genesis 21:17-18)

Reading the account of the story of Hagar and Ishmael, a mother and child cast away by Abraham and Sarah and wandering in the wilderness of Beer Sheva, it is striking to note that God heard the murmuring, the unuttered prayers of the suffering child. God hears the cries of the children. God sent His ministering angel to care for the child. A frightened mother’s BURDEN turned to BLESSING by a God who hears the cries of the children. The cries of the children in the womb—cries for justice, for life—are precious to the ears of an Omnipotent God. At Be’ad Chaim, we speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for those who had been on their way to death (Proverbs 24:11-12, 31:8). With your partnership, we offer mothers the support that they need to choose LIFE. Thank you for joining with us as ministers of His love, protection and provision to needy mothers and defenseless children.

Bless you!

NEW CENTER IN BEER SHEVA

Just as God saw the pain of Ishmael, a child wandering in the wilderness of Beer Sheva, our team hears the cries of hundreds of needy mothers and their preborn children in Beer Sheva, the capital of the Negev region, with a population of over 660,000. The area has a mixed population of Jews, Arabs and Bedouin. We lovingly serve them all without discrimination.

In the past twenty years, our Beer Sheva center has helped save the lives of over 1,400 babies and is currently serving about one hundred women. We are grateful that for the past decade, our distribution center has been in a bomb shelter provided to us by the Beer Sheva municipality in conjunction with the welfare department. Since the war began, the bomb shelter has been in frequent use by the neighborhood when missile attacks occurred. Sadly, we have had supplies stolen numerous times. We want to see this center grow and become an even greater blessing to the women in Beer Sheva. We give thanks to God and to very generous donors for the amazing provision of funds to purchase a building and create a NEW, BIGGER and BETTER CENTER. We have purchased a wonderful building which was used for over twenty-five years as a kindergarten. After renovations, it will be a perfect facility for our expanding center in a great location near a shopping center and on convenient bus routes. It will have plenty of storage space, a large meeting room, several counseling offices and an outdoor gated entrance accessible for baby strollers. Glory to God, we were handed the keys to the new Beer Sheva women’s pregnancy center on February 25th and look forward to this being a place filled with the Love of God.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE EVENT IN NETANYA

On February 5th, Be’ad Chaim celebrated the blessing of saving thousands of lives from abortion. About one hundred and twenty people, including Messianic leaders from around the country and our staff, gathered for dinner, worship, prayer, and powerful prolife testimonies. The worship was tender and drew us closer to God’s love. A passionate message was given by Tony Sperandeo, the Chairman of the Board, who shared the urgency of protecting and valuing every life, emphasizing Israel’s high esteem of human lives as we consider the hostages returning from Gaza. Sandy Shoshani, the National Director of Be’ad Chaim, shared statistics of abortions in Israel and the various Be’ad Chaim projects. This year alone, we have seen the birth of nearly five hundred babies, and currently over one hundred and fifty of our mothers are pregnant. Since beginning Operation Moses Project in 2006, we have served over six thousands mothers and babies. Miriam shared her testimony: Be’ad Chaim helped her thirteen years ago when she was in a crisis pregnancy at age sixteen on the streets of Tel Aviv. Miriam’s son Osher (which means “happiness”) joined her on the stage as she shared how much happiness he has given her. Miriam subsequently came to faith and three years ago was hired as a wonderful, empathetic counselor for other women in crisis pregnancy. Helen, a post abortion counselor, shared her testimony, stressing the need to help women recover from the shame and guilt of abortion. It is imperative that we create a safe environment in our churches for healing the brokenhearted. The testimonies were followed by group prayer at each table and prayer for life by Messianic leaders from the stage. The goal of the evening was to inspire one another to pray and take action for the protection of mothers in crisis and for the unborn children. Local congregations were challenged to partner with us in prayer, to share prolife messages in congregations, and to offer volunteers ways to befriend pregnant and new mothers.

In the afternoon, prior to the evening celebration, our staff from around the country met together for a time of fellowship, refreshments, games and team building. About thirty of us gathered to write a note of encouragement to someone else in the room and to learn more about each other’s hobbies, families and interests. Although we pray together weekly on Zoom, we are only able to get together in person twice a year, so our team building time is vital and highly valuable.

Nina and baby Boy Shaun

“They looked to Him and were radiant and their faces shall never be ashamed.” Psalm 34:5

Alison, our counselor in Eilat, sent this wonderful praise report:

I met a scared, withdrawn, beaten up pregnant girl in the local police station where she gave her statement about the beatings. Now Nina is a vibrant, glowing young lady, very confident with a healthy, active toddler for whom she prepares fresh, healthy food which baby Shaun heartily eats. He’s already taken his first steps before his first birthday. Nina had been ashamed of being pregnant and afraid of what other people, especially her family, would think, but she is now a proud mother with no shame and no regret for choosing to give life and to love her son. Her mother is very happy to have a new grandson.

Nina said "I am blessed to have met the team at Be’ad Chaim! Always let them know how much gratitude I have in my heart. You gave me hope. You saved my life, and I was able to get out of a dark place and finally see the light again. I can now manage on my own." Nina has been freed from shame and is a godly worshipper of the Lord.

ABORTION REVERSAL PROCEDURE SAVED HALLEL’S LIFE

In our July newsletter, we shared the very exciting successful use of APR, abortion procedure reversal, after mother Alicia regretted taking a pill to abort her baby. Over the years, we have had calls to our hotline from women who, after taking the first of the two chemical abortion pills, changed their mind and deeply regretted beginning the abortion process. Sadly, we were not able to help them because we could not find a doctor who would agree to the reversal procedure. Praise God, in July, a doctor volunteered to save Alicia’s baby. This story really is a miracle! Alicia is a single mom who had two children. When she became pregnant again, she decided to have an abortion. She began the process and took the first pill, but on the same day, she deeply regretted her decision and reached out to our hotline desperate for help. Remarkably, a doctor in Tel Aviv agreed to administer progesterone to reverse the abortion, and miraculously, the pregnancy continued! Nearly all Israeli doctors say that beginning a chemical abortion will cause abnormalities in the fetus and warn against continuing the pregnancy. Alicia underwent multiple tests. She was worried about how the baby would develop and if there would be any damage from the first pill. The doctors put her on bed rest and said that it was a high-risk pregnancy, but in January she gave birth to a healthy baby girl whom she named Hallel (which means “Praise”) because of the miracle of her birth. Alicia thanked us:

“There are no words to thank you enough for the support and care I received. Without the counselor’s advice, I probably wouldn’t have continued the pregnancy with all the fears I had about whether the baby would survive or if she would be born healthy. Many thanks as well to the generous donors.”

A MESSAGE FROM TONY SPERANDEO, CHAIRMAN OF OUR BOARD

Shalom dear friends and family,

“A voice cries in the wilderness, prepare ye the way of the Lord…” (Isaiah 40:1-3)

It all started a few months ago as I was joining the SAYF (sitting at the feet of Yeshua), the national Israeli leadership gathering in Sde Boker in the Negev. We were all dispatched very early in the morning with our Bible and a bottle of water to seek the Lord, spending time with Him in prayer. During this personal time of walking and meditating, overlooking the sunrise on the beautiful orange-red desert colors, I received a very strong impression from the Lord. I felt a strong urge to travel to Washington, DC and participate in the Sanctity of Life March for Life, organized every year in the month of January around the Capitol. Since the beginning of the war on the 7th of October, I have been trying to connect the dots between Israel, the Hamas genocide of Israelis, the 2 Chronicles 7:14 mandate, and the Sanctity of Life message. It was becoming clearer that what happened to us as a nation on October 2023 was the direct consequence of our sinful behavior as a society rejecting the love and wisdom of our Creator. The books of Habakkuk and Jeremiah were blueprints of the coming judgement over our nation. There in the desert I knew God wanted to show me his Grace and Mercy.

“Lord, in judgement, please remember mercy” (Habakkuk 3:2).

I arrived in the USA right after the inauguration of President Trump. I stayed with very dear friends and intercessors and prepared myself to walk for Life in the frozen cold. I was overwhelmed with the huge number, tens of thousands pouring into the streets marching for miles, peacefully and joyfully proclaiming the message of the sanctity of Life, that unborn Life matters, that every baby deserves a birthday. What was also very encouraging to me was to observe that the vast majority of participants were the young generation: students, families, teenagers, all declaring the values of the kingdom of God openly without shame. Here was the priority of the message of the Kingdom: Life and Eternal Life, the connection between Heaven and Earth, the Sanctity of Life and the Great Commission. True REVIVAL! Nothing can stop the wave of Life, Truth and Love that is moving in the world. I also witnessed a sign of Unity of the body, all denominations and walks of Life: Catholics, Evangelicals, Protestants, Russian and Greek Orthodox, Armenians, Jews, Coptics and others. “Only the Lord knows the shape of His Body.” “From there the Lord commands His blessing: Life for evermore” (Psalm 133:3). I was so encouraged in my spirit. In Israel we are seeing ourselves as the Gideon army (the three hundred). In Washington, I felt the Lord saying: See I have still more than seven thousand faithful who have not bowed the knee to Baal.

Our goal for after the war (may it be soon Lord!) is to organize a March for Life in Jerusalem with the seven thousand, mostly the young generation, in Love and Unity (Jews and Arabs and Christians from all denominations), declaring the only hope for the Middle East, the Name of the one who is the Way, the Truth and The Life, the King of King and the Lord of Lords, Amen.
