Estimates say 1/5 of all pregnancies in Israel end in abortion. And though the government pays for a staggering 20,000 abortions yearly, an equal or greater number are also performed privately. Since 1948, more babies have been aborted in Israel than the number of children that died in the Holocaust. Yet despite the nation’s deeply rooted respect for life, Israel is one of the only countries in the world where it is legal to abort a baby up until birth (Read more about abortion in Israel).

Be’ad Chaim has been an advocate for mothers and children in Israel since 1988. Not only have they rescued thousands of babies, but they also provide education, counseling, and tangible provision to needy mothers through their sponsorship program, Project Moses. This initiative supports women who choose to keep their babies by providing baby necessities for a full year.

Women in crisis usually find us :

- through a Google search

- they see our advertising on a bus/ a sign in restaurants or a gym/ a video on facebook or youtube

- they hear about us from a friend

- they are referred by a social worker

They phone our hotline where the skilled counselor calms them and assures them of local help. The hotline counselor takes the woman's phone number, gives it to the counselor in her area of Israel and that counselor arranges a local meeting. We have counselors in 12 different areas throughout Israel from the North to the South.

The local counselor will become the woman's 'friend' and 'support' during the pregnancy and after the birth . She will also send all of the forms to register the woman/baby for the Operation Moses project to our national office in Jerusalem. Through Operation Moses, the mother will receive: baby bed, stroller, bed sheets, bathtub and monthly gift cards to purchase baby necessities for a full year. The Jerusalem office is responsible for the administration / finances/ purchases/ etc.

Each of the counselors is phoned weekly so that she can give us a list of her prayer requests for the moms. The final compiled list is sent every Monday to over 900 places around the world . Weekly prayer meetings are held in our Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Tiberias offices.

Counselors pray together on zoom every other week. We have national counselor days twice annually for encouragement, refreshing and fellowship.
