Shir - Alma

Nov 05, 2019 • By Be'ad Chaim

Shir is married and has 4 children, Omer (11), Doron (9), Ariel (6) and now her precious newborn Alma.

Shir’s husband is in prison because in the past he was convicted and given community service which he did not fulfill.  Shir has been separated from her husband for some time and they were only in contact for the sake of children.  He is soon to be released  from prison and they will decide about their future together then.

When Shir discovered she was pregnant she immediately wanted to have an abortion.  Considering her financial situation and her complicated relationship with her husband she didn’t think she would be able to cope. She then took some time to reconsider and realised that with each of her children, with each life, a blessing followed, and she then decided to keep her precious baby.

Shir knew she would need support, so when she heard about Be’ad Chaim she decided to reach out for help.  We were very happy to support Shir and it was then through your very generous sponsorship she was able to become part of The Operation Moses Project. This provided her with new furniture for her baby and also monthly vouchers for a whole year to buy other essentials that her baby would need.

On the 20th July 2019 Shir gave birth to a beautiful little girl, she named her Alma. It was a difficult birth and also Alma was born early at 34 weeks.  She had to be kept in hospital for a whole month after her birth.  Praise God both mother and baby have recovered and Alma is now growing well.  Sometimes it seems that Alma has reflux, which means that when she is feeding the milk comes back up and gets stuck in the gullet.   This causes pain and discomfort.  Please pray for this problem to be solved and for Alma to be able to feed well with no problems or pain.

Alma’s older siblings love their new little sister. Alma’s father hasn’t seen her yet but he is really looking forward to it once he is released.  He is sending Shir money and trying to support her and the children as much as he can.

Shir is receiving income support from National insurance and Shir’s mother is helping her a lot too which she is very grateful for.

Please pray for Shir she loves her precious little daughter and is so grateful to have her but she does feel like it’s her first child, because her older children are in a completely different stage now. Shir is deeply grateful for all the support she has received, it truly made a difference to her situation.

Thank you very  much for your kind and generous support and for your continued prayers for Shir and her precious family.
