Sandy's Devotional

Nov 05, 2019 • By Sandy Shoshani

Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.”  (John 4:10-15)

The water that Jesus is offering is much more than thirst-quenching. It is life-giving to the heart of the one who is willing to drink. If you have had a “drink” from God’s presence or word and are yet still thirsty for love and peace, drink more! He will never disappoint yet sometimes we give up. God wants to give us abundance - a fountain of joy and life. If you feel exhausted and heart-broken, drink more! Breakthrough in prayer! Pursue His peace. Place your burdens at His feet, even throw the weight of them down. He is more than able to bear all of our pain and burdens and to fill our thirsty souls and hearts with His love. “Therefore with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” Isaiah 12:3
