Liora - Meir

Jul 28, 2019 • By Be'ad Chaim

Liora and her husband both came to Israel as refugees from Ethiopia, although he was born in Eritrea. They met several years ago in Israel and got married. Both of them found work as cleaners. This gave them a steady income and they were able to rent a nice apartment. They have a son who is two years old now. Her husband always drank a little, but when Liora got pregnant again his drinking became more of a problem. When she was 6 months pregnant, it became pretty clear he had become an alcoholic. He then left her in Jerusalem and went to live with his friends in Tel Aviv. Dear Liora was very confused and did not know what to do. She was very scared at the thought of an abortion, because she just could not see how she would be able to cope with having another baby in her situation.

Thankfully, Liora heard about Be’ad Chaim and when she made contact with us we were very happy to help and support her. It was then through your very generous sponsorship Liora was able to become part of The Operation Moses Project. This provided her with new furniture for her baby and also monthly vouchers for a whole year to buy the other essentials that her baby would need.

On the 21st of June 2019, Liora gave birth to a precious baby boy weighing 3.550 Kg. She named him Meir (Meaning- Lord is God). It was a challenging natural birth but praise God both mother and baby are healthy and doing well.

Now, with a toddler and new baby, she has no way to pay her rent. A friend has offered to let her live with her for a time in Tel Aviv. This is obviously a very difficult situation for Liora. We spoke to her about attending a church with her husband and offering him a drug rehabilitation program. Please pray for God to reveal Himself to them and restore their lives.

Liora expressed her very deep appreciation for being able to be part of Operation Moses Project. It really made a huge difference, especially knowing she was not alone.

Thank you very  much for your kind and generous support and for your continued prayers for Liora and her family. Please pray specifically for Liora’s husband to stop drinking and take responsibility for his family. And please pray for their protection.
