Irena and her husband

Jul 30, 2019 • By Be'ad Chaim

Irena and her husband are both migrant workers from the country of Georgia. They are both lovely and very positive people, and they both enjoy living and working in Israel.

When they discovered Irena was pregnant they were very worried because they don’t have any health insurance in Israel.  Irena heard about Be’ad Chaim towards the end of her pregnancy and came to meet one of our wonderful counsellors. She was very scared and had so many questions. The counsellor was able to reassure her and happily agreed to help and assist her during this challenging time.

It was then through your very generous sponsorship Irena was able to become part of The Operation Moses Project. This provided her with new furniture for her baby and also monthly vouchers for a whole year to buy the other essentials that her baby would need.

Eventually they were able to find a good hospital where she could give birth that would charge them the least that any other hospital they had visited.  On the 7th June 2019 Irena gave birth to a handsome little boy weighing 3,310 Kg. They named him Gabriel (Meaning Man of God).  It was a difficult natural birth, and praise God both mother and baby are healthy and doing well. Irena is breastfeeding Gabriel and also giving him formula because she doesn’t seem to have enough milk.

Irena’s husband is working in a factory and is providing and supporting his family.  He is very happy about their new precious son.  He is helping as much as he can and sees fatherhood as a very special experience.

Irena expressed her deep appreciation and gratitude for all the support her and her family have received.  She said “Thank you so much, your help is deeply appreciated. I don’t even have words to express how grateful and thankful I am”.
