Effi and Her Baby

Effi is a single mother of 2 children.

Effi’s partner is currently in jail. He was violent towards Effi when she was pregnant with their first child so she reported him to the police and he was charged and put in jail. When their son was about a year old, her husband came out of jail and Effi got pregnant again. She was really hoping that things would change and that they would be able to live together as a family. Sadly, her husband started threatening her and being violent towards her again. So, again, she had to report him to the police and he was put back in jail. 

When all that happened Effi wanted to have an abortion. Living in such difficult circumstances with her partner and also having some big financial struggles, she really could not see that she had any choice.  Initially, Effi simply did not have the money to go through with an abortion, but then thankfully she turned to Be’ad Chaim. We had already helped Effi with her first son and we were more than happy to help her a second time too. 

It was then through your very generous sponsorship that Effi was able to become part of The Operation Moses Project. This provided her with new furniture for her baby and also monthly vouchers for a whole year to buy the other essentials that her baby would need.

On the 3rd of June 2019, Effi gave birth to a precious little boy, weighing 2.800 Kg. She named him Ori  (Meaning light). Everything went well and both mother and baby are well and healthy. 

Effi is feeding him with formula. The doctors are a little worried that Ori is not gaining enough weight, but Effi is not worried. There were the same concerns with her first son, but everything went well with him. 

Effi’s mother is deceased, and she is not in contact with her father, but thankfully her mother-in-law sometimes comes to help her. 

Even though Effi is receiving income support and an allowance for her rent she is still feeling very pressured financially.  Please pray for the Lord to guide her and give her wisdom in the area of finances. Pray too for her husband, that his time in jail will be a time of repentance, salvation, and change of heart.  

Effi is so deeply grateful for all the support she has received. It really made such a huge difference and, indeed, saved the life of her baby.
