Tikva's* Story
Mon, 10/06/2008 - 12:27 — minarts
Tikva , although from an orthodox family, had been abused as a child in the U.S. and made “aliyah” alone to Israel when she was just 16 . She married and divorced twice within just a few years and found herself a single mother with three young boys. Tikva called the Lilach counselor for help when she was at the beginning of her fourth pregnancy. Being diabetic and unemployed, she didn't know whether she could manage with another child. The Lilach counselor befriended Tikva, encouraged her and spent time with her. Our “doula”, birth coach, assisted the birth of her beautiful fourth son. Osher, which means “happiness”, is now 7 months old. Tikva is a loving, caring mother for her children and Lilach has been able to lighten her load by providing Operation Moses supplies of monthly diapers and food. * Mother's name changed to protect her privacy |
