Orly's Story

Orly's Story

Orly is a 40 year old native Israeli who has had a very difficult life. She was abused as a child and has been in three abusive marriages. She has had six abortions and suffered a nervous breakdown 10 years ago. She hasn't been able to work because of her deep emotional needs.

Orly is not currently married but became pregnant. Intent on having another abortion, she visited Hadassah hospital and met with the abortion committee. She was given a date for what was to be her 7th abortion. Sitting at the bus stop on her way home, Orly shared her story with the woman waiting next to her. The stranger said to her , "You don't have to have an abortion. " and jotted down the Be'ad Chaim hotline number for her. This "divine appointment" touched Orly deeply and , though fearful, she decided to tell her 19 year old son about the pregnancy. To her surprise,  he told her that abortion is murder and that he wanted her to have the baby.

Orly followed up and contacted Be'ad Chaim. There, she was able to spend many hours with the Be'ad Chaim counselors who worked with her in a loving and caring way. She received much prayer and healing of her soul. She has since decided to keep the baby who is due in early November. She reports that her life has turned around and sees this as a new beginning of her life, but is concerned about the future.

Be'ad Chaim is providing assistance during the pregnancy and will give assistance for the first year after the birth through the "Operation Moses" project. Also, Social Services will continue to visit her three times a week to supervise the family.

We praise God that He has seen the plight of Orly and has brought his people alongside of her to give her new hope!
